La Sivolière
La Sivolière is an independent hotel of about 35 rooms, suites and apartments in the Chenus area of Courchevel 1850, founded by Jean Cattelin, the resort's former head of pistes and one of its pioneers. It is known for its family-house atmosphere, run by Florence Carcassonne.
La Sivolière began when Jean Cattelin, one of the men who built Courchevel and its former director of pistes, turned a chalet into a hotel.
It has changed hands since but remains independent, and its director Florence Carcassonne keeps the family-house spirit it is known for.
It sits in the pines at Les Chenus beside the Dou du Midi red piste, so you leave and come back on skis; the centre is about ten minutes on foot.
