Below 1850, Courchevel's other villages are quieter and sometimes more personal: Moriond for sun and families, Courchevel Village for a local feel, Le Praz for its lake and kitchens, La Tania for a chef's table and a pub.

Courchevel Moriond, still often called 1650, is the sunniest village and the liveliest after dark outside 1850, with a more relaxed atmosphere.
Restaurants cluster along Rue du Marquis and at the foot of the Ariondaz gondola. It suits families and groups of friends who want good food in a relaxed village.

Courchevel Village, formerly 1550, is the quietest of the upper villages, linked to 1850 by the Grangettes gondola. It has a handful of honest, unpretentious restaurants and one of the resort's best-loved après-ski bars.
Rue des Rois and the foot of the Tovets piste concentrate most of what is worth knowing. Expect a residential, local atmosphere rather than a scene.

Le Praz is the original farming village of Courchevel, at 1,300 m, with a lake, the Olympic ski jumps and a few of the most serious kitchens in the valley. It is six minutes from 1850 by gondola.
Le Praz is where people go when they want a real village around their dinner. Tables here are often easier to book than in 1850, and the cooking is no less ambitious.

La Tania is a small car-free village in the forest between Courchevel and Méribel, built for the 1992 Albertville Olympics. It has one Michelin-starred table and a strong British après-ski culture.
Most visitors come here on skis from Le Praz or 1850. It is worth the detour for Le Farçon at dinner and Le Bouc Blanc at lunch.
