La Saulire
La Saulire is a traditional restaurant on Place du Rocher in Courchevel 1850, in a wood-panelled room filled with old mountain objects. It is known for pairing Savoie cheese with Périgord truffle, and has been run for decades by the same host.
La Saulire is one of the oldest independent tables in the centre of 1850, run for decades by host Jacques Trauchessec. The room, panelled and crowded with mountain objects, has hardly changed, which is the point.
The menu is classic French with a Savoie accent, and truffle is the house signature, from the fondue to the foie gras.
On fine days it closes at lunch so skiers stay on the slopes.
