Le Chabichou is the gastronomic restaurant of the hotel of the same name on Route des Chenus in Courchevel 1850, where Maryse and Michel Rochedy started in 1963 and won the resort's first Michelin star in 1979. Chef Stéphane Buron, Meilleur Ouvrier de France 2004, holds one star in 2026.

Our take
We list it for its history and its chef, and we say plainly that the founding family has moved on.
The story
Le Chabichou is part of Courchevel's culinary history: the Rochedy couple took over a modest house in 1963, and Michel Rochedy brought the resort its first Michelin star in 1979, then a second.
Since 2018 the hotel has belonged to Lavorel Hotels, a small French hotel group run by the Lavorel family. Stéphane Buron, MOF 2004, leads the kitchen; the restaurant holds one Michelin star in 2026 (two previously) and 17.5/20 from Gault&Millau.

A classic gastronomic dinner with a long Courchevel history.
Good to know
Owned by Lavorel Hotels since 2018. For a lighter meal in the same house, Le Sidonie serves lunch.
